Bali Travel Diary- 3

Hello again, friends! I am back with another travel diary, this time, with week three! I can’t believe I am halfway finished with this adventure. Here is what I’ve been up to the past week!

Monday 12/18

I started off the week with a fantastic aerial yoga class! I love all things yoga and dance, and this felt like a combination of the two. We used the silks to do all kinds of acrobat moves, which was such a blast.

I spent the rest of the day hanging out with friends and saying goodbye because so many were going home!

Later that night we had a pizza party at the hostel. I loved spending the entire day with new friends.

Tuesday 12/19

Tuesday was such a crazy and hectic 24 hours. I started my adventure in Seminyak with Agnes (whom I spent the night with). She had rented a scooter and we decided to take a day trip to see some cool waterfalls!

On our way, we saw a beautiful lake and had to make a pit stop. We ended up eating a questionable lunch in what I believe was a cultural center on the water. It was such an odd place and we were very confused with where we had ended up. But, nonetheless, it was beautiful!

After about an hour at the random lake, we made our way to the waterfalls. The specific waterfall we went to was called the Banyumala Twin Falls, and it was four in one! This was honestly the best day of the trip so far, and the waterfalls were remarkable. I am so grateful to have seen them!

After a couple of hours, Agnes and I drove 2 hours back on the scooter. The ride was pretty brutal, but 100% worth it! We then got dinner at La Plancha and hung out all night. It was such a great day!

Wednesday 12/20

On Wednesday, I started at breakfast with some of my girlfriends! We spent a couple of hours at brunch and it was delicious.

Afterwards, I was off to Ubud! It was around a 2-hour drive to my accommodation. Once I made it to Ubud and relaxed around the hostel for a bit, I made my way over to the monkey forest. There were so many cute monkeys, but it was slightly intimidating since they can be so aggressive at times.

Then, I went back to the hostel, had dinner, and played trivia with some friends!

Thursday 12/21

On Thursday, I wasn’t feeling the best so I had a chill day at the hostel. I ate breakfast and met some really great girls, who added me to their little group for the rest of the week!

After relaxing all day, they played the Grinch after dinner! It was great to finally get in the Christmas spirit.

Friday 12/22

On Friday, I took a yoga class with a friend at the hostel and then got breakfast. It was a great way to start the day. Then, I walked around the town of Ubud for a couple of hours.

I then went back to the hostel and got lunch with some of the girls. Later that day, we went to the Ubud market and shopped around for several hours. I didn’t buy much, since I am saving as much cash as possible, but it was so fun!

For dinner, we went to a local Warung. It was delicious and cheap food. The best combo! And then we just hung out at the hostel and had a girl’s night. I’m so glad I met them!

Saturday 12/23

Saturday was packed! I decided to do a day trip with the hostel, and we did so much.

We started at the Holy Water Temple, where we all took part in the water cleansing. It was such a beautiful place.

Then, we visited a Luwak coffee plantation and tried all new kinds of coffee and tea. They were delicious!

Afterward, we went to another waterfall that had rivers all around it.

We finished at the rice fields where we ate lunch.

It was such a busy day, but we got to see all of Ubud, which was fantastic. I was so tired when I went back home so I just took a nap and ate at the hostel.

Well, that brings us to the end of another week! As I said, I am officially halfway through this trip. I can’t believe how fast time has flown and how many memories I’ve made. I can’t wait for what tomorrow will bring!
